This table-top robot was designed to teach language to primary school students. This robot was part of the edutainment application of the Social Situation Awareness Project at Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC), A*STAR. Supervised the Mechanical Design of Face and appearance in Solidworks.
Designed the mechanical subsystems involved in the neck and arm of the robot with attention to safety, compliance and reliabiliy.
Developed manufacturing standard CAD models after conducting HRI studies with primary school students and working closely with Industrial Designers.
Sourced for the hardware and coordinated with external vendors for the development of 10 units of the robot.
Fabricated internal mechanical structure of the robots with 3D printed parts and aluminium profiles.
Designed the electrical subsystems and made the cable harnesses for the power and communication channels.
